Compliments and other things

I am such a sucker for a compliment from my boss, and coworkers. I have a friend that used to say she'd work for compliments if the rent could be paid in them. I know how she feels.

Yesterday, I got a nice compliment from a co-worker who has been with the company for many years and who is, I guess in a position of authority above me. Not my boss, but definitely not on my level. He tends to be a little effusive in his praise, so when he said he really liked this report I did, I took it with a grain of salt. He's not real computer literate so making Excel do nice graphs and such, can seem a little like magic to him. He mentioned it again today, saying that the higher ups liked it too. I'm thinking "okay, so?"

However, I realized that maybe I wasn't treating his comments with the proper respect, when my boss (whom I greatly admire and respect, and who can do just about anything I can in Excel) stopped by today and mentioned that she LOVED the report, and she's happy she got a graph she didn't have to tweak!

Getting a compliment from T, cool, not completely difficult to do. Getting a compliment from my boss (J), not unheard of, but worth more when it was as sincere as this one. And she was bragging about me to other coworkers!

Then to top it off, I got called in to the big boss's office and asked to recombine some of the info for reports I helped T put together. Of course, every, single time my phone rings and it shows the Big Boss's # my heart skips a beat. It's good when it's good news.

I guess it's been a pretty good day ... Oh yeah and we have been getting some MUCH needed rain here in Texas. So I hopeful that we will have an AWESOME wildflower season next year - that would be coooooool.

I know I haven't blogged much about my photography, and I will get back to that. I hope to get some good "rainy" pictures this weekend (YAY RAIN!)
